Alfhemsvillan is a company offering planning, construction and interior of new beautiful houses. A all inclusive set-up if their clients wants to, where not only the house is build, but also the interior is carefully selected and put together with the house.

I help this client to consult brand related decisions, digitalise logo, put together a colour pallet for both digital purpose and print and a font. As an addition to the specifications I presented two additional logos for the client to consider. This sparked the creativity which created a efficient and sustainable design.

The logo

Process

This client had a good picture of how they wanted their logo to look like and I was given a sketch to follow and make digital. I did, like I always do, send them a start document where the client is encourage to specify what the company stands for and how they want to appear. I also want them to provide me with inspirational source of how design they like.

Their name and primary colour, green, was already decided which gave me a clear start.

I also received a picture of their first built houses, and was stunned by the beautiful and natural colours. You can see the pictures in the beginning of the page. I decided to work from the colours I could find in the picture, and later tweaking them a bit to work together. The font I chose was according to their wish, a simple and easy font.

Additional suggestions

Even though Alfhemsvillan had a good and clear picture of what they wanted the logo to look like, they wanted me to give some additional examples of how to make a logo.

So, with the inspirational designs the client had presented in the start document, I started to create logos that matched their taste in design, with a touch of my own style.

Result & learnings

Working together with clients that has a well visualised picture of their brand is both challenging and very rewarding. You have the safety in creating something from a sketch, at the same time as their could appear more issues where the client has a closed mind. For this case I’m grateful that I had a open and continuous dialogue with the client to eliminate those issues and together work towards the end result in a agile way.
